<P>I've also struggled with your exact problem in the past (and I'm still looking for a better solution).  Basically, compressed print is about 16.67 characters per inch.  My solution (still not 100 'perfect') is to create a Courier New 8 point font.  Assuming you are in MM_TWIPS mapping mode, you would set up a LOGFONT variable e.g, lfFont, as follows:

<P>VERIFY(m_pCurrentFont = new CFont);
