<BR>In the year 2001, IAAPA experienced a remarkable evolution within the global amusement and attractions industry.  
Interrupted temporarily, as was everything by the events of September 11th, the overall year was a successful one 
filled with change that will forever modify and shape the future of the association.  A new logo was developed; 
IAAPA's European office opened and a new president was hired after John R. Graff announced his retirement after 
21 years as the head of the association.
<p>Continuing to emphasize safety as the industry's number one priority, IAAPA promoted to legislators and the 
media that visiting an amusement park is one of the safest forms of recreation available to the public. IAAPA 
also provided a full range of events, programs, products and services to enhance the image of the industry, and 
help its members run profitable businesses. 
<p>Over the years, IAAPA has continued to adapt and change to meet the needs of its members and the ever-evolving 
amusement industry.  The industry continues to benefit from its growing popularity in the U.S. and the many new parks 
and attractions that continue to open in countries all over the world.

<FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#339900" FACE="B Univers 65 Bold, arial, helvetica">Preserving the Fun in the New Millennium</FONT>
<BR>IAAPA's dedication to the industry and its members was never more
evident than in 2000. Continuing to emphasize safety as the industry's
number one priority, IAAPA dedicated its efforts to preserving the fun for
future generations. IAAPA appeared before legislators and the media to
detail how the industry provides one of, if not the, safest forms of
entertainment to the public. IAAPA demonstrated that current industry
standards, the existing system of government oversight and regulation, and
other voluntary efforts have and will continue to insure the safest possible
rides and attractions. IAAPA also provided a full range of events, programs,
products and services to enhance the image of the industry, and help our
members run more profitable businesses. It's all part of the strong support
the amusement and attractions industry deserves for delivering a product
that's so popular, and so good at bringing people together.
