            <P><B>NEWS UPDATE:</B></P>
            <P>The amendment to create the Lake Whalom Overlay District passed 
            at the Lunenburg Town Meeting on Saturday, May 4, 2002.
            <P><B>July 4, 2002 - The Saga Continues! </B>
            <P>Back in January of 2002 when the Whalom Park Amusement Company 
            signed a purchase and sale agreement with an unnamed developer, we 
            said that we were going to fight until there was an actual deal 
            signed AND CLOSED with us or with someone else. Six months later, we 
            continue to fight the good fight as the deal has yet to be closed. 
            <P>As before, Save Whalom Park is preparing to make a competitive 
            offer on the Park property if and when this developer backs out of 
            his agreement. In the last six months, we have seen little movement 
            toward closure of the deal, leading us to believe that our situation 
            is as strong, if not stronger, than it was in January. 
            <P>One significant change since January is that the identity of the 
            developer has been revealed. Lester J. Rosensaft, a Leominster 
            native who now lives in the New York City area, met with Lunenburg 
            Town Planner Marion Benson on April 4, 2002. He subsequently made an 
            appearance at the public hearing on April 22. Although Rosensaft has 
            not filed a formal proposal or applied for permits from the town of 
            Lunenburg, he has said that he hopes to develop a mixture of 
            commercial and residential properties on the site. However, the deal 
            remains open and his hopes remain just that - hopes - until the deal 
            is closed. 
            <P>Save Whalom Park continues to work with financiers, investors and 
            enthusiasts in the efforts to preserve our historic amusement park, 
            regardless of the identity of the potential developer. Please join
