PHANTOM's REVENGE

Designed by Morgan Manufacturing
Conception by Harry Henninger Jr.
Built by Kennywood and Morgan Manufacturing
3500 Feet Long

Taking out the Steel Phantom, which had again been voted one of the world's top five coasters,
was not an easy decision. But faced with increasing competition and short of space to build a spectacular coaster
elsewhere in the park, Harry Henninger decided that marketing came first.

So he made the tough call. Then it became apparent to him that Kennywood could have the best of both worlds - keeping
the best of the Phantom and not only improving it but attracting a wider market.

The result is an even faster (82 MPH) coaster with a longer drop (228 feet). New thrills replace the loops and corkscrew
of the Steel Phantom. The end product is a rebirth akin to the Thunderbolt after the Pippin.
Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.

The Exterminator is a Subterranean Roller Coaster that creatively combines some
of the greatest sensations in the amusement park industry. It is so unique that you've got to ride it to believe it.

Basically, the Exterminator is a coaster in the dark. But it is much more than that. The experience begins when the
intrepid rider-to-be enters a tunnel that leads to the depths of the underground utilities, sewers, and a world of the
unknown. Rodents and their hated enemies, the Exterminators, inhabit the world of darkness.

The underground travelers or intrepid riders will explore this cavity of terror. Only Kennywood has a roller coaster
that provides this screaming experience.

Riders must be 46 inches tall to ride. Riders between 46 inches
and 52 inches tall need to wear a seatbelt.

Andrew McSwigan and F.W. Henninger hired one of America's top coaster firms, Miller and Baker, to design a new
high-speed coaster. John A. Miller designed the new $50,000 coaster. Taking advantage of a ravine on the edge of the
park, Miller designed the Jack Rabbit. Using a small amount of lumber, he designed a beautiful coaster with the new
system of wheels under the track to create a 70-foot double dip. The train is made up of three seat cars with a capacity
of 18. You must be at least 36 inches tall to ride. If between 36 & 46 inches you must ride with an adult.

The Racer, which was originally built in 1910, was showing its age by 1926. Plans were made to rebuild it, but at the
last minute it was decided to demolish it and completely rebuild a new coaster.?Because they liked John Miller's previous
work, Kennywood hired him to build a new twin or racing coaster. Brady McSwigan wanted a "snappy ride that wasn't too much
for mothers and children to ride." The new Racer was one of the most beautiful racing coasters ever built. It cost more than
$75,000, because Miller didn't use the topography as effectively as he had with the Jack Rabbit and Pippin. Miller designed
a reverse curve so the train that started on the right side of the loading platform would finish on the left side. The new
racer, which had wheels under the tracks, permitted bank curves as well as curves on the dips.?Andy Vettel took the final
hill out of the coaster in 1949.?The loading platform's facade was redesigned in 1946 by Hindenach and in
1960 by Architect Bernard Liff of Liff, Justh and Chetlin. The
original front was restored in 1990. You must be at least 46 inches tall to ride.

To help celebrate the '96 International Year of the Rollercoaster, Kennywood installed a new coaster. But don't get
too excited... that is, unless you will be with a Kiddleland guest.

You see, this is a true kiddie coaster, designed for the little tots but with the same thrills for them as their
brothers and sisters get on any of Kennywood's five big coasters.?All steel, fabricated in Florida, this is the first of
its type (no wood structure) ever for Kiddieland.

The little coaster is sure to be
remembered by our youngest guests... it's the Lil' Phantom. Under 36 inches tall must ride with an adult. If over 52
inches must accompany rider under 52 inches tall.
