When a match is detected the mail message is movedto the associated folder.<P>To add or insert new automatic filing rules, and to modify ordelete existing automatic filing rules, click the<B>A</B><U>u</U><B>tomatic Filing ...</B>option. The<CODE>Automatic Mail Filing Rules</CODE> window appears.<P><HR><B>TIP:</B><BR><CODE>Automatic Filing</CODE> can be combined with an<CODE>AlertCommand</CODE>. (If no automatic filing rules have been defined, both fieldsare empty.)<P>The pattern is evaluated as a<I>regular expression</I>, as defined bythe UNIX<B>ed</B> command.<P>You use the four buttons to the left of the text fields to:<UL><LI>Create a automatic filing rule.<P></LI><LI>Insert an automatic filing rule.<P></LI><LI>Edit an existing automatic filing rule.<P></LI><LI>Delete an existing automatic filing rule.<P></LI></UL><P>When you click the<B>New ..., Insert ...</B>, or<B>Edit ...</B> buttons, the<B>EditAutomatic Mail Filing Rule</B> window appears. The<CODE>Edit Automatic Mail Filing Rule</CODE>window appears.<P></LI><LI>Place the pointer in the<B>Pattern:</B> text field and enter astring pattern that would appear in the header field of anincoming message.<P></LI><LI>Place the pointer in the<B>Folder name:</B> text field and enterthe name of the folder that should be used when thestring pattern is encountered in a message header.<P><P><HR><B>NOTE:</B><BR>Folder names can be fully qualified pathnames or relative path names. Relative pathnames are resolved starting from your<I>$HOME</I> directory.
