如果使用“插入” 菜单栏中的“日期和时间”命令插入日期和时间，则除非选择自动更新日期和时间，否则Word不会更改所插入的日期和时间。要使Word能够自动更改日期和时间，先单击“插入”菜单栏中的“日期和时间”命令，然后选中“自动更新”复选框，如图1.8.21-1。在单击该域再按下F9键后，Word将会显示当前日期和时间。<br>

如果将日期作为域插入，但未对其进行更新，也会显示错误日期。此时可以更新域。方法是：单击此域，然后按下F9键。<br>
打印时自动更新日期的方法是：单击“工具”菜单栏中的“选项”命令，然后单击“打印”选项卡，选中“打印”选项框下的“更新域”复选框，如图1.8.21-2。<br>

如果要跟踪创建、最后打印、最后保存文档的时间，可以单击“插入”菜单栏中的“域” 命令，单击“类别” 框的“日期和时间”选项，然后插入CreateDate
、PrintDate 或SaveDate域。可以使用这些域的选项来实现只打印日期或时间，也可以二者都打印，如图1.8.21-3。<br>
