In some instances the tests will indicate that problems exist. Be ready to outline what the problems are and describe how to fix them.</p><p>During the second half of the lab, use a star topology to set up a simple Ethernet LAN. The evaluation will be based on the ability to handle the cable correctly. Demonstrate how to lay cable and punch down wires in a jack and at a patch panel. There should be good connections when finished.</p><p>After completing the connections for the star topology LAN, test it. If tests indicate problems, diagnose and troubleshoot those problems.
