These subroutines generate graphic output in a 
device-independent manner.  See

for a description of their effect.
The
.PN openpl
subroutine
precedes the other subroutines as it opens the device for writing.  
The
.PN closepl
subroutine
flushes the output. The 
.PN box ,
.PN color ,
and 
.PN dot
routines are used by the lvp16 and hp7475a plotters only.
