The

command uses the serial line internet protocol to connect to another
system. Master systems initiate a connection by specifying a host for the
connection. The host must be listed in the file
.PN /etc/sliphosts .
Slave systems use
.PN slattach
as their login shell.

must exit for the connection to be successful.
