			ENDPOINT SERVICE
			================



1 - Description
---------------

The Endpoint Service is responsible for echanging messaging between
two JXTA peers that have direct connections, using one of the underlaying
JXTA transport protocols, such as the JXTA TCP or HTTP bindings.


The Endpoint Service is primarely used by other services or applications
that need to have an understanding of the network topolgy, such as the
Resolver Service, the Propagation Service.

Note: the Endpoint Service is not responsible for routing messages for peers that are
      not directely connected to each other. The routing of messages is done by a
      special JXTA Transport Protocol, the Endpoint Router.

2 - Protocol
------------

The only protocol the Endpoint Service implements is to include the source
and destination Endpoint Address of messages being exchanged.


3 - Wire Format
---------------

The Endpoint Service includes the Endpoint Address of the source of the message
within a message element named jxta:EndpointSourceAddress. The EndpointAddress
is represented in its URI form.

The Endpoint Service includes the Endpoint Address of the destination of the message
within a message element named jxta:EndpointDestinationAddress. The EndpointAddress
is represented in its URI form.
