          Y E A R   --   F I S C A L   C A L E N D A R   P R O G R A M


PURPOSE:
    The YEAR program's purpose is to output a Fiscal Calendar for the current
    or User-specified Year.


SYNTAX:
    YEAR [year]
         where 'year' is any year between 1753 and 3999 inclusive.

FILES:
    year.exe - Executable for the Fiscal Calendar Program.
    year.c   - C source for year.exe.
               It should compile using any ANSI C compiler.
    year.doc - This Documentation.

    This program is hereby donated to the Public Domain.  If you should share
    the program with others, please provide all three of the above files.


NOTES ON FISCAL CALENDARS:
    (1) All Fiscal Weeks begin on Mondays and end on Sundays.

    (2) There are usually 52 Fiscal Weeks in a Year.   The exception to this
        is when January 1st of the FOLLOWING YEAR falls on Friday, in which
        case there are 53 Fiscal Weeks in the Year.

    (3) Owing to the fact that 7 (the number of days in a week) does NOT
        divide evenly into either 365 or 366, Fiscal Week 1 and Fiscal Week
        52 (or 53) often contain days from the prior and following years
        respectively.  The following table summarizes the Fiscal Week that
        January 1st falls under:

        ---------    ------------------
        Monday       FW  1 current year
        Tuesday      FW  1 current year
        Wednesday    FW  1 current year
        Thursday     FW  1 current year
        Friday       FW 53 prior year
        Saturday     FW 52 prior year
        Sunday       FW 52 prior year

    (4) The months are made up of a fixed number of Fiscal Weeks:

        1ST QUARTER:                 3RD QUARTER:
        January  - 4 Fiscal Weeks    July      - 4 Fiscal Weeks
        February - 4 Fiscal Weeks    August    - 4 Fiscal Weeks
        March    - 5 Fiscal Weeks    September - 5 Fiscal Weeks

        2ND QUARTER:                 4TH QUARTER:
        April    - 4 Fiscal Weeks    October   - 4 Fiscal Weeks
        May      - 4 Fiscal Weeks    November  - 4 Fiscal Weeks
        June     - 5 Fiscal Weeks    December  - 5/6 Fiscal Weeks

    (5) The Fiscal Quarters are comprised of the following Fiscal Weeks:

        1st Quarter   FW  1 --> FW 13
        2nd Quarter   FW 14 --> FW 26
        3rd Quarter   FW 27 --> FW 39
        4th Quarter   FW 40 --> FW 52 (or FW 53)
